Final Zone
You start off the Final Zone in this hallway. On your way to the final boss you have to dodge hideous traps designed to weed out the weak as only the strong may continue in Final Zone and I'm lying it's just a hallway and you'll meet the final boss.
But where is he? Well...
He'll pop out of one of the four cylinder...err...things. All you have to do is jump into him. After each time he goes away, a few balls of energy appear at the top and then fall slowly to the floor. All you have to do is stand where there's a good space in the row of energy balls and then jump over them before they reach the floor. A good strategy is to stand where I am in the picture and then stand on the lower-right pod when the energy balls appear. It will take a while, but it's a safe way to beat him. It's not a hard final boss, though you have no rings so be careful. After a while this will happen...
Robotnik will fly off in his 'Eggmobile' but all you have to do is hit him one more time and...
Victory.
You'll see Sonic running through Green Hill Zone with a ton of animals jumping about. Congratulations, you've beaten the game!
The credits features a medley of the level themes as well as a little clip of Sonic going through a section of each level. However, remember those Chaos Emeralds I talked about? Well, if you didn't get them all this will appear at the very end...
Robotnik juggling any Emerald you didn't get. If you want the very best ending, get all six Emeralds. But that's it for Sonic the Hedgehog, I'll see you for Sonic 2!
